Are Gummy Bear Breast Implants the Best Option Available?

Gummy bear breast implants are the fifth generation of cohesive gel implants, nicknamed for a consistency similar to that of gummy bear candies. These cohesive gel implants are made to look more normal than some of the high-profile implants available, so if somebody wants a lot of roundness on top (i.e., a little bit more of a “Baywatch” look), then these implants are probably not for them. Additionally, patients who wish to go much bigger – as well as those who have larger skin envelopes that need to be filled up – are generally not good candidates.

It is also important to note that gummy bear implants are typically more expensive than other implant options, as special considerations need to be taken in regard to their insertion. For example, Dr. Mills prefers to use the TransAxillary SubPectoral Augmentation (TASPA) technique to insert gummy bear implants through the armpit. This method usually takes more time and expertise, therefore increasing the overall cost of care.
