Dr. Daniel Mills Elected President of ASAPS

We are excited to announce that Dr. Daniel Mills was recently voted President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)! Comprised of more than 2,600 board-certified plastic surgeons, ASAPS is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious medical organizations for doctors specializing in aesthetic surgery of the breasts, face, and body.

During his term – which spans from April 5th of this year to April 2017 – Dr. Mills will continue to focus on ongoing initiatives, such as his advocacy for laws to be passed on both state and local levels that ensure those performing aesthetic surgery are well educated and qualified to do so. In addition, he hopes to establish a centralized system of evaluating cosmetic surgical outcomes based on what procedure was performed and which techniques were employed to show there are intricacies of every treatment that can affect a patient’s safety and overall results. By being able to see exactly what was done and then following up later with electronic medical records and data points, Dr. Mills hopes the best procedures and surgical methods can be identified, ultimately leading to significantly improved patient care.

In regard to his election, Dr. Mills says it is a true honor and privilege to represent fellow board certified plastic surgeons who do the majority of their work in the aesthetic field. To back them on everyday issues of their practices as well as ensure they continue to have the best opportunities to further their education in all aspects of cosmetic surgery is a great responsibility – but it is one to which he looks forward to devoting his time and energy for the benefit of plastic surgery as a whole.
