CUTERA^® Laser Treatments: What to Expect

As revealed in my previous blog post, CUTERA^® laser treatments can be excellent for improving the appearance of skin discolorations, tone irregularities, scars, wrinkles, vascular conditions, and more. During the Excel V™ Laser procedure, three customizable laser frequencies are employed to precisely target various superficial and/or deep vascular issues without damaging surrounding tissues. Additionally, an innovative contact cooling system is utilized during treatment to help reduce any potential discomfort that may be experienced. The Laser Genesis™ is designed to diminish the appearance of assorted skin blemishes – subcutaneous tissues are gently heated to stimulate the natural production of new collagen. This too can be performed without harming neighboring tissues, and only minimal discomfort is generally experienced.

Recovery and downtime is estimated at 3-7 days post procedure, and patients may experience bruising, swelling and redness during this time. Patients should avoid sun exposure following treatment and should expect the pigmented treated area to darken within 24-48 hours. Multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
