Laser Skin Rejuvenation
As some of the most innovative aesthetic enhancement procedures to be introduced into the cosmetic surgery field, many men and women are turning to the non-invasive option of laser skin rejuvenation. While there are a number of options when considering laser skin rejuvenation, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel C. Mills specializes in three in particular:
With all three procedures, Dr. Mills is able to address his patients’ enhancement needs when they are considering non-invasive options like laser skin rejuvenation. The procedures use light and energy to initiate treatment, which is then combined with non-surgical skin treatments and medical-strength skin care products for home use to provide optimal results. In the initial consultation with Dr. Mills, he and his patients will discuss which option is the correct choice for their skin resurfacing expectations, and create a treatment plan based on those goals and Dr. Mills’ expertise.
ActiveFX™ Fractional Laser
ActiveFX™ is the latest technological advancement in treating aging skin as it dramatically reduces wrinkles and fine lines while tightening and plumping the skin. With the fractional laser, there is noticeable improvement in skin tone and texture, which if taken care of, can delay the need for more invasive procedures like a face lift. One of the main reasons for success of the ActiveFX™ system is the treatment encourages the formation of new collagen, which leads to an inner tightening in the skin. While typical results are evident immediately, most patients see improved results over the next three to five months. The downtime of the ActiveFX™ treatment is generally three to five days after a single treatment, which takes less than an hour to perform. The procedure is usually performed with a topical anesthetic, or a mild oral sedative to make the patient more comfortable.
IPL For Sun-Damaged Skin
The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial Rejuvenation is another age defying skin care treatment offered at Dr. Mills’ Aesthetic Plastic Surgery practice. Far more effective than creams, medications, or so-called “wrinkle laser”, IPL Skin Treatments using Photorejuvenation improves the appearance of sun-damaged skin on the face and body — broken capillaries, age spots (sun-induced freckles), sun damage — with brief treatments, and not a moment of “down time.” The IPL treatment can erase years from a patient’s face, neck, chest and hands, without incisions. Following IPL treatment with Dr. Mills, patients’ skin appears more youthful and revitalized. The procedure typically requires three to five treatments spaced four weeks apart. Downtime is minimal as patients can expect mild darkening, a brief redness, and rare swelling of the treated area. To further enhance the effects of IPL and extend the results, Dr. Mills recommends the use of mineral makeup to provide natural sun protection and mineral ingredients to the skin.
Aluma™ Multiplatform Laser
The revolutionary NEW Aluma™ with FACES™ treats skin texture and laxity to help restore the look of youthful skin. This unique technology passes energy deep into the tissue, contracting collagen while passing through the tissue’s surface. All you see is the result — smoother, tighter, more beautiful skin.
Aluma™ Multiplatform laser improves skin texture and laxity while restoring a youthful overall aesthetic. The technology employed in Aluma™ passes energy deep into the skin’s tissue, which causes collagen to contract and pass through the skin. The result is smoother, tighter skin with results that continue to improve over the next three to six months. A series of six treatments every two weeks is recommended by Dr. Mills. There is no downtime, and other than mild redness and swelling in the treatment area, Aluma™ presents a non-invasive option with limited side effects.
