Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that can help reduce the appearance of numerous aging symptoms and various skin concerns on both the body and face. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this advanced technique is designed to promote the growth of collagen and elastin within the skin by encouraging the body’s natural healing response. Utilizing the innovative Eclipse MicroPen™, board-certified plastic surgeon Daniel Mills, MD, FACS and his experienced team can help minimize lines and wrinkles, enhance skin tone and texture, diminish mild acne scarring and enlarged pores, and improve the skin’s ability to absorb beneficial skin care nutrients. Furthermore, the microneedling procedure can often be employed in conjunction with other medical spa treatments for more comprehensive skin rejuvenation.

What Are the Benefits of Microneedling?
Microneedling with the Eclipse MicroPen™ can be performed on virtually any area of the body, including the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, abdomen, back, and legs. Customized to meet the unique needs and skin requirements of the individual, this revolutionary treatment can be administered in the safety and convenience of Dr. Mills’ practice, often in as little as 30 minutes (depending on the extent and quantity of concerns being addressed). Additionally, discomfort during treatment is not usually an issue, and there is little to no downtime following the procedure.
For qualified patients, microneedling with the Eclipse MicroPen™ can help:
- Diminish lines and wrinkles
- Improve skin texture, tone, and hyperpigmentation
- Reduce acne scars and enlarged pores
- Enhance the health, function, and aesthetics of the skin
Furthermore, the microneedling procedure can often be employed in conjunction with other medical spa treatments for more comprehensive skin rejuvenation.
What Does the Microneedling Procedure Involve?
Lighter microneedling treatments are performed by our skilled clinical aesthetician, and treatments designed to target deeper tissues are conducted by Dr. Mills and/or our highly trained registered nurse.
To begin the procedure, a topical saline serum will be applied to the targeted region. Next, the Eclipse MicroPen™ will be gently pressed down and guided over the treatment area as the device’s micro-tips uniformly create tiny channels in the skin’s surface layer. Triggering the body’s natural healing reaction, this process stimulates new collagen and elastin growth, helping to produce younger, healthy skin cells for a rejuvenated appearance.
Based on the specific concerns and number of treatment areas, the entire microneedling procedure usually takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Most patients tolerate treatment quite well and do not report experiencing any significant discomfort.
What Is Recovery Like After Microneedling?
Among the many advantages of microneedling with the Eclipse MicroPen™ is the fact that it generally does not require downtime. Following the procedure, some soreness, swelling, redness, and/or bruising may occur, though these side effects should diminish relatively quickly. In fact, the majority of women and men are able to resume their normal daily routines later the same day.
How Long Do Microneedling Results Last?
Microneedling results can vary depending on individual skin concerns and the number of treatments completed. Effects typically last several months, with optimal results appearing after a series of sessions (usually three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart). Periodic maintenance treatments are often recommended every six to twelve months in order to help sustain the skin’s youthful appearance and texture.*
Subtle signs of improvement in skin tone and texture often become apparent after a few days after a microneedling treatment, and the full effects of treatment generally continue improving for several weeks as more collagen and elastin are produced. Once final results are achieved, the skin should appear smoother, healthier, and beautifully revitalized.
How Much Does Microneedling Cost?
The cost of microneedling varies based on factors such as the treatment area(s), the number of sessions completed, and the addition of other medical spa treatments (such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or laser skin resurfacing). During a consultation, our team can provide a personalized estimate based on your unique needs.
